Back and Neck Pain
One of the most common reasons for doctor visits, back and neck pain ranges from subtle discomfort to intense debilitating pain. Largely the origin of nonspecific mechanical disorders of the spine, back and neck pain are difficult to diagnose particular causes. Generally, pain associated with one’s spine is the result of muscles strains and ligament sprains. Injury to the spine may result in a compressed nerve root causing intense pain. In these serious cases neurological function may be impacted and manifest in numbness and weakness. Degenerative conditions and consequences of acute injuries have long-term negative implications for pain associated with the spine. Examples are arthritis, herniated disks and fibromyalgia.
